Nostalgia certainly has its place in the candy market. But how do you re-launch a classic tried-and-true candy like the Squirrel Nut Zipper to attract a new and younger audience?

The Idea: Zipper The Squirrel

Among the younger set, furry little squirrels were much better known than Squirrel Nut Zipper candies. So, for our campaign idea, we combined the two and developed a feisty new character, Zipper The Squirrel, to help kids better relate to the aging SNZ brand. The Zipper campaign made a big splash at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago and carried on to create a whole new following of feisty fans.
